Group Meeting 2019: Rock ‘n’ Roll Jive!
Each year one WI within your federation subgroup takes its turn to host the “Group Meeting” for that year.
2019 was Stone Rangers’ turn to host & 60 members from 7 WI’s enjoyed a night of Rock ‘n’ Roll Jive, with dancing tuition from Chicken Shack, 1950’s hair styling, fancy dress and a 1950’s themed buffet laid on by the committee. Oh what a night!
Stone Rangers at The Royal Variety Performance 2016!
In summer 2016 an email was sent to all London WI’s asking if any members enjoyed singing and wanted to be part of “something exciting”.
A few Stone Rangers signed up and in November we learnt that we were to perform at The Royal Variety Performance to promote a new musical version of The Calendar Girls! We formed part of a 200 strong WI choir to sing with Gary Barlow and the cast (we were fully clothed!). The event was compered by David Walliams.
What an experience and what an honour!
